Modern Tyres
Launching the new moderntyres.com
Project Overview
Delighted to launch this one for Modern Tyres. It's a family business that started in 1965 and grew into one of Ireland's biggest tyre companies, with 80 depots and more than 500,000 tyres in stock. The new moderntyres.com puts all of that in one place. Find your tyres, see the price with fitting included, choose a depot near you and book a time that suits.
Challenge
Nobody wakes up wanting to buy tyres. It usually starts with a warning light, a slow puncture or a failed NCT, and people want it sorted fast. The site had to make that easy for every kind of driver:
- Someone who knows their reg but not their tyre size
- Someone who wants the cheapest safe option, and someone who wants a premium brand
- An EV driver, a van driver or a fleet manager looking after hundreds of vehicles
- Anyone who wants to know the full price, and where and when they can get it fitted, before they pay
Solution
We designed the site around three things every customer needs to do. Find the right tyres. Choose with confidence. Book and pay without picking up the phone. It works just as well on a phone in a car park as it does on a laptop at home.
Find
- Search by registration, or by tyre size using width, profile and rim
- Ten tyre ranges to browse: car, van, EV, winter, summer, all-season, 4x4, all-terrain, run-flat and ultra-high-performance
- Brand pages for the names people ask for, from Michelin, Pirelli and Bridgestone to Continental, Goodyear and Dunlop
- A tyre size guide that explains every number on the sidewall, with a short how-to video
Choose
- Results grouped into value, premium and famous premium, with the tyres the Modern Tyres team recommend shown first
- EU tyre labels on every tyre, so fuel efficiency, wet grip and road noise are easy to compare
- Filters and sorting by price, plus clear tags for EV-ready, run-flat and extra-load tyres
- One clear price that includes fitting and wheel balancing, with stock shown on every result
- A product page for every tyre with the full details
Book and pay
- Pick a quantity and add to the basket in one tap
- Find your nearest fitting depot and choose a date and time
- Add wheel alignment at checkout
- Promo codes and secure online payment
- Then drive in and get them fitted
Launch
The new moderntyres.com is live. Customers can go from a reg number to a booked fitting at their local depot in a few minutes, and every part of the Modern Tyres business has a proper home on the site. Here's everything that went live on launch day:
