Ten blue links used to be the whole game. Now a growing number of people skip them. They ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot a question and get one answer, often with a name and a link. If that name isn't yours, you never knew you were in the running. AI search optimisation is how we change that. AEO, answer engine optimisation, gets your pages picked as the direct answer in Google's AI Overviews, featured snippets and voice search. GEO, generative engine optimisation, gets your business named and cited when an AI assistant writes its reply. It sits on top of good SEO, not instead of it. Assistants lean on sites that are fast, clear and trusted. So we start there, then do the work that's specific to AI: making sure the crawlers can get in, the facts about you match everywhere, and your content answers questions in a way that's easy to quote.
The two letters
What AEO and GEO actually mean

What it takes
Clear questions with short, direct answers, and structured data that marks them up
Consistent facts about you across the web, content worth quoting, and AI crawlers let in

Snippets and AI Overview spots won for target questions
How often assistants mention you, and visits from AI tools tracked as their own channel
Not on top of the basics yet? Start with SEO. Assistants trust the same sites Google does.
What we actually do
The work, step by step
No black box. Here's exactly what goes into it.
Find out what AI says now
We ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity the questions your customers ask, and record who gets named. That's your baseline.
Let the crawlers in
We check that AI crawlers like GPTBot can reach your site, add an llms.txt file, and fix anything blocking them.
Get your facts straight
What you do, where you work, since when. We make it match across your site, Google Business Profile and the directories assistants read.
Write answers worth quoting
Guides and FAQs that answer real questions in plain language, near the top of the page. Easy for a person to read and for an assistant to lift.
Mark it up
Structured data for your business, services, FAQs and reviews, so search engines and assistants understand exactly what they're reading.
Track it like a channel
AI assistant visits get their own line in your report, next to Google and paid. Plus a monthly check on who the assistants name.

How we work
The process
01
Baseline
We ask the assistants what your customers ask and record who gets named. Then we check what's stopping them naming you.
02
Foundations
Crawler access, llms.txt, structured data and your business facts made consistent everywhere they appear.
03
Answers
Guides, FAQs and page rewrites that answer questions directly and plainly. The kind of content assistants quote.
04
Track and repeat
Monthly checks on AI mentions and AI traffic, with fixes where the gaps are. Written report every month.
AEO gets your page picked as the direct answer in Google, like a featured snippet or an AI Overview. GEO gets your business named when ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot writes a reply. The work overlaps a lot, which is why we do them together.
Do we still need SEO?
Yes. Assistants lean heavily on sites that already rank and are trusted. Skipping SEO and going straight to AI search is like painting a house with no walls. If your SEO needs work, we'll start there.
Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend us?
No one can, and be wary of anyone who says otherwise. Assistants change how they answer all the time. What we can do is make your business easy to find, read and trust, then track how often you're named and keep improving it.
How do you measure it?
Two ways. We run the same set of customer questions through the main assistants every month and record who gets named. And we track visits from AI tools as their own channel in GA4, so you can see the traffic and enquiries it brings.
How long does it take?
The technical fixes take a few weeks. Being named in answers takes longer, usually a few months, because assistants have to pick up the changes. Sites with strong SEO already tend to move faster.
Is this just a fad?
We don't think so. People are getting used to asking a question and getting one answer. Even if the tools change, the work holds up: a clear site, consistent facts and content that actually answers questions. That's good for Google and good for customers too.
